Chief Executive Officer Appointment
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Kelly McGiffin to the position of CEO, to Lakeland Credit Union Ltd., effective April 6, 2020.
The Board of Directors undertook a national search for a new CEO with the goal to appoint an individual who has the energy and the commitment to move Lakeland Credit Union forward in creating a focus on member service, providing for a financially strong credit union, creating a great place to work, and supporting our communities.
The Board has found this in Kelly. Through the process Kelly demonstrated that he is a genuine credit union person – Four decades of experience in cooperative financial institutions as an executive leader, someone who is committed to the principles of cooperatives and committed to providing great service to
members every day. The Board values the many years of credit union experience that Kelly will bring, as well as his commitment to working hands on and in collaboration with our staff and members.
Kelly has held leadership positions with credit unions in Ontario and in British Columbia. Kelly’s previous job was President & CEO at First Ontario Credit Union in Hamilton, Ontario – From 2007 to 2019.
Kelly brings coaching experience at the highest level achievable; both within and outside the credit union. Those who have worked with Kelly describe him as confident, cooperative and dedicated to working with his team, committed to providing great service to members, and focused on achieving excellent results for the credit union.
The Board looks forward to the achievements that will result from our staff working with our new leader with a continued focus on our members.
